Movie night in The Family usually occurs once a week and is an event that members of all ages tend to look forward to given the scarcity of entertainment mediums allowed by The Family.
Movies were a rare glimpse into the outside world for many second generation members and the movies that Family members were allowed to view were carefully screened and published in approved movie lists.
The desirability of the movie night event for second generation members was such that its denial was very frequently used as a punishment.
