A term used to describe society outside of The Family. It is especially applied to capitalistic societies, but anything and everything that is 'out there' and not within the group (which considers itself separate from the "un-Godly" world) is considered a part of the system.
It is invariably used while invoking a sense of iconoclastic elitism and thinly veiled distain of the "system" and "systemites".
This characterization played well to personality types who were attracted to trendy "anti-establishment" movements.
