Miriam Williams Boeri, Ph.D. (known in The Family as Jeshanah) is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Kennesaw State University in the state of Georgia. She is a former first-generation member of The Family.
Williams Boeri left the cult in 1988, and in 1998 published a book about her experiences, titled Heaven's Harlots: My Fifteen Years As a Sacred Prostitute in the Children of God. In the same year she established the ExCOGnet web site. Williams Boeri has published research and participated in academic conferences covering topics related to new religious movements and cults, including The Family. [1]
