A denizen of the System, or in other words anyone who is not a member of The Family. Members are discouraged from socialization with Systemites except for the purposes of proselytization and fund raising. In addition to perceived spiritual inadequacies, outsiders are sometimes shunned for perceived physical uncleanliness. While most Family members don't have a conscious justification for doing so, the perception of Systemites as physically unclean reinforces the spiritual shunning of the outside world and is manifested in many ways, including the following:
- Members are forbidden from having sex with non-members.
- Historically, dishes and utensils used by Systemites were washed separately.
- Clothes used out in "the System" were to be removed promptly and washed (see: System clothes).
