Young Adults (more commonly called YAs) are youth in The Family International aged 18 to 20 years. However, the term is also occasionally used to refer to younger Second Generation Adults (those aged 21 and older who were raised in the cult).
Since the Family's governing Charter was instituted in 1995, YAs qualify as voting members for all home decisions, and share financial liabilities with other home members. Also since that time, YAs are premitted to have full sexual relations only with other Family members ranging from age 16 to the age seven years older than themselves.
