Cults tend to polarize, whether intentionally or not and The Family International is no exception. The appelation of "enemy" is a villification applied liberally to anyone who is critical of the group or its practices.
"Enemies" were often cursed and prayed against, and misforture that would befall them was seen as a result of the prayer and cursing.
As with numerous Christian denominations, The Family International also uses "the Enemy" in reference to Satan of the Bible.
