The Family International claims the Holy Bible as the foundation for their beliefs. Revelations and prophecies received by the Family's leadership, however, may override doctrines contained in the Bible.
The Family uses the King James Version of the Bible nearly exclusively, avoiding other translations.
In addition to the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, members of The Family consider the teachings of David Berg, Karen Zerby and Steven Kelly to be the inspired Word of God.
