Word time referenced periods of the day in which members were scheduled to peruse literature that The Family considered to be the Word of God. This material consisted of the Bible and the writings of The Family leaders exclusively.
Quotidian word time was typically spent perusing internal publications with the reading the Bible coming in at a distant second. The term "word time" also tends to be used to describe individual perusing of the Word as opposed to the scheduled group devotions which typically happened in the morning though all time spent perusing the word could be described by the term.
