Deceivers Yet True refers to The Family's controversial belief that it is right to lie in order to protect God's work. This belief is currently taught and practiced by members of The Family. It is derived from the Bible verse II Corinthians 6:8.

A comic magazine addressing this doctrine was published internally to educate Family children about the need to protect their family by lying to unbelievers if needed. Among other dramatized Bible stories, Protecting Baby Moses portrays parental delight and approval when young Aaron lies to an egyptian soldier in order to save his baby brother, Moses.

At the comic's conclusion, children are admonished not to lie to parents or elders.
