The Family holds many beliefs related to supernatural events and the spiritual realm. Some of these are taken from traditional Christian beliefs, while others are unique and may even be considered heresy by traditional Christians.

Family Mythology

The Family claims knowledge of many individual demons, angels and spirit helpers. They believe that referring to angels, demons, etc. by name gives their prayers extra effect. I.e. Family International members may call on Ellya to help them wield the Keys of the Kingdom to fight the Vandari attacking them through media exposure. Or, instead of simply praying to overcome a physical addiction, a Family member may pray for Boheme to sever the tentacles of Bacchus with the Key of Resolve.
