- I recall 1986 being a year in which the anti-christ was supposed to "take over". Note that this was due to Halley's Comet being interpreted as a "sign of the times". Berg likely made numerous such predictions. He was remarkably unabashed when it came to getting predictions ass-backward and had great (and apparently justified) confidence in the belief that members would buy the inevitable "it was going to happen but Jesus changed his plans" ilk of argument. --Craven de Kere 00:42, 5 May 2005 (CDT)
- I'm pretty sure the date was moved forward to 1993 after an earlier prediction, but I can't find verification of the 1985 date so I'll remove it from the article. As for the 1993 prophecy (ML456), the following can be found in "70 Years Prophecy of the End!", written by Berg, copyrighted 1973:

Of course, Berg also prophecied America's destruction in Jan.1974 by the comet Kohoutek. "But it will be a 40 day warning culminating somewhere in January, most likely between the 11th and 21st of January" (The 3rd Letter of Moses on the Comet!, 1973-11-12, p.1). "You in the U.S. have only until January to get out of the states before some kind of disaster, destruction or judgement of God is to fall" (40 days! And Nineveh shall be destroyed, 1973-11-12).
Also, the famous "Warning Prophecy" was received by Berg's mother and brought to him when she visited on one occasion in 1965. It spoke of the endtime and the coming of the Antichrist: "Even now the skies are RED, RED with WARNING, and BLACK, BLACK with clouds gathering for the GREAT CONFUSION which is ALMOST UPON YOU!"
